Thats a Good question, Standard Feel!?
Right now your bike has low end torque and a great power band, responsive throttle in most gears and decent power every where ofcourse when kips open its like Vtec. And not to mention great gas mileage. (rm10 shell RON 97 = 3 days) standard... Mine (RM10 shell RON 97 = 1 day)
When you modify the exhaust(full racing chamber) and intake(remove foam filter only) for example, Carb re jet'ting is mandatory (equals more fuel usage), you shift the power band to mid and max range, peak power is increased and u might get more peak rpm... But your bikes driveability changes, the mood of the bike becomes a problem, it want u to twist the throttle to generate torque and power, or else it will just sputter, (like having the bike in 6th going 60kmh) it feels like shit! but on the other hand, Standard factory setting, its fine, because of the Chamber design and Factory setting, it more well rounded power band, low, mid and high rpm. So thats what you will have if you start to mess with it, thats why 90% of kipers just Reduce the sprocket in the back from standard 39T to 36T, Maintain 520 size, for higher top speed.
But if you really want more power withought messing with exhaust or jetting, just have your top,shaved to increase compression, it will make your bike scream and shout withought messing with the fuel and exhaust and filter!!! it dramatically increases power everywhere... The choice of a smart and cheap mod, takes very little while, Big difference...
However if youre like me... damm blady gatal!!! because i come from ducati monster M900 & yamaha 600 Thundercat, i need more and more! But i love my Ninja to death! next mod is 68mm block and head kit from rextor rm500 ++ gasket and new reed valve and work. around 650 all in!!!
